The Queer Street festival at Konstablerwache

A festival for equality and diversity! Indulge in food and drinks from traditional queer bars & restaurants in Frankfurt, while live acts, political discussions and DJane* sets provide glittering and colorful moments on the main stage.

Bazaar of Diversity in the Info Street

At CSD, the info street is transformed into a lively “Bazaar of diversity”. Numerous associations, groups and initiatives from Frankfurt's queer community present themselves here and show how colorful and diverse the city is. The bazaar stretches along the Große Friedberger Straße via the colorful Regenbogenkreisel, where the art & culture stage is located, to the end of the Alte Gasse, where it ends with the dance stage.

The Art & cultural stage offers an exciting mix of cabaret, poetry slam and live radio, providing the best entertainment. A special highlight is the extremely popular high heels race, which takes place on Saturday at 7 pm and attracts numerous viewers.

Dance stage in the Alte Gasse

Once again, this year, the Alte Gasse near the PinkBar will be filled with electronic music on all three days! Look forward to various queer DJanes and DJs, as well as up-coming DJanes and DJs, who will inspire you with their beats from Friday to Sunday. A musical weekend full of variety and driving beats awaits you!

Awareness program

What does “Awareness” mean and why does the consciousness team exist?

With our program at this year's CSD street festival, we are sending a strong signal for presence and activity. We are there to support those affected by border crossings as a trustworthy point of contact and to offer a safe space in the event of conflicts.

Awareness means being aware and being informed. We do not tolerate racism, xenophobia, sexism, misogyny, classism, queer hostility, nationalist, anti-Semitic, anti-democratic, anti-migrant and antiziganism ideologies, hostility towards people with disabilities, right-wing hate speech and other forms of group-focused misanthropy.

You will find our Awareness Point to the right of the main stage, where we also offer access to a retreat tent. We will also be out and about with a mobile awareness team, recognizable by green armbands at the street festival and the Bazaar of diversity to help you if you are not feeling well or experience discrimination or border crossings.

Our primary goal is that you feel comfortable at CSD Frankfurt. We are there for you if you experience harassment, discrimination or any kind of abusive behavior. In addition, our team also offers help with health problems, for example due to alcohol or drug consumption, as well as support with any kind of discrimination.

Be nice to each other. Always treat each other with respect and tolerance.

Young people and children (under 18) can also relax in the youth and chill-out area at the Frankfurter Engel (art & culture stage).

Youth and chillout area

At this year's CSD, we are creating a lively retreat for young queer people with the youth and chillout area. Here you can relax, recharge your batteries and make valuable contacts. Design creative demo signs together and get active at the Social Media Point. Numerous other exciting activities await you.

Accessibility

The Queer Street Festival at Konstablerwache

The entire square, including the station Konstablerwache, is barrier-free. In addition to wheelchair-accessible cable bridges, the stage pit reserved for wheelchair users ensures a direct and immediate stage experience. From there you also have unrestricted access to a retreat and a barrier-free toilet.

Sign language interpreters will translate the main stage program for deaf people. At the dance stage, you can simply let yourself be carried away by the bass.

On the whole area, you will find toilets in Fahrgasse, Kleine Friedberger Str., Klaus-Mann-Platz (Kunst & Kulturbühne), at the end of Alte Gasse (Tanzbühne), at Konstablerwache (eastern end, corner of Woolworth/elevator) and in the B-level. All these locations have wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

Talk to us. The team at the information stand will be happy to help you and put you in touch with our “Helping Hands”.

During the Demonstration

The demonstration takes place on public streets and squares. We cannot always guarantee absolute accessibility there. There are no mobile toilets on the demonstration route, so we recommend you a place near a store with accessible toilets or stay close to the street festival.

For the demonstration, we offer bicycle cabs for people with walking disabilities without wheelchairs, but also for the visually impaired and all those who are dependent on them. Please let us know in advance and report your needs via our contact form on our website (keyword: accessibility). www.csd-frankfurt.de/kontakt/

Our team and our security staff will be happy to help you wherever possible.

Safety & Emergency

Our Security Staff will ensure your safety and are always available to help you with any problems. Don't hesitate to speak to them - they are there for you.

The Police urge you to report incidents, assaults and assaults to the police. You can reach the police in the backstage area or at their information stand at the Bazaar of Diversity. The contact persons for same-sex lifestyles of the Frankfurt police are available at: 0049 69 75566-777 und 0049 69 75566-99.

The emergency numbers for the organizer, security and rescue services are clearly displayed at all stands.

The Rescue Service is located at the western end of the Konstablerwache in the direction of the Sparkasse and Apfel Apotheke.

The moment of silence

Collective silence - After we have made ourselves loud for the queer community, after we have discussed, demonstrated and danced, we take a moment of silence. We become quiet and pause together on the festival grounds and take a minute of silence to remember and honor all those who cannot be with us today.

The minute's silence will be led by Christian Setzepfandt, Jo van Nelsen will recite a poem to mark this important moment.

Missy Canis, the multi-instrumentalist and producer from Mannheim, will also be performing a diverse and breathtaking live show with many instruments and a loop station. With saxophone, didgeridoo, drums, guitar, various soundscapes and vocals, Missy Canis creates excursions into pop, jazz and chill out. At CSD Frankfurt, she will accompany the minute's silence with her saxophone.

High-heeled shoe race - presented by IKK Südwest

The high heel race is one of the most entertaining events at CSD Frankfurt. On CSD Saturday, visitors compete in a sprint on high heels. This does not necessarily mean that female participants or those with drag experience are the faster ones - it's the technique that counts!

As in previous years, the race will take place at the Bazaar of Diversity in Info road (Große Friedberger Straße). As always, there are great prizes for the three fastest participants. Racing sticks can be borrowed on site, pre-registration is not necessary.

Meeting point at the START: CSD-Infostraße, Große Friedberger Straße, (DESTINATION: Regenbogenkreisel)

motto

In view of the growing hatred and agitation towards the LGBTIQ+ community, it was clear from the beginning that the motto had to address this. Right-wing extremists spread absurd stories to discredit us and exclude us from society. These prejudices lead to hatred and ultimately to violence.

When we promote more sensitive language that does not exclude anyone, we are accused of “gender propaganda”, drag queens read to children about tolerance and acceptance, are called “groomers” and put in a corner with pedophilia.

All of this is just to stylize us as the enemy against whom we must take action.

The rise in queer hostility can be seen all over the world, especially in countries where this rhetoric is not just used in private but are written into law by influential leaders.

All over the world, we see politics being made on the backs of the community. Election campaigns are fought and even won with hate.

The saddest example of this is probably Russia, where the global LGBTIQ+ community was classified as extremist and banned by court order last year.

We, the CSD Frankfurt e.V., say: Yes, we are extreme. Extremely colorful, diverse, angry, proud, loud, self-confident and so much more.

That's why our motto this year is:

We are extreme - lovingly!

Because what we are essentially demanding, even more than 50 years after Stonewall, is the acceptance and equality of our way of living and loving.

We would like to call on you to make this year's CSD a particularly loving event in the heart of Frankfurt.

We are extremely looking forward to this CSD,

Your CSD Frankfurt e.V.
