The name says it all. The word “riot” means uprising and that is exactly what John Riot stands for with his music. The singer/songwriter wants to set an example for the queer community and call for more acceptance and tolerance. With mostly melancholy lyrics, a rough voice and pure pop club beats with a hint of 80s, he has now created his own unique sound. Early on in his career, the Frankfurt native used his reach on YouTube to actively raise awareness of problems and issues in the LGBTQIA+ community. In response to the introduction of marriage for all, John launched his own social media campaign called “#MYPRIDE” and released the single of the same name.
