Balu's German-language lyrics are small, timeless masterpieces that are in no way inferior to the power of the catchy melodies, both lyrically and in their expressive imagery. She does not shy away from socially relevant topics either, on the contrary, she takes a critical look at them. Whether from her own perspective or that of another person, Balu is able to give everyone enough space so that listeners can find themselves in (these very) stories.

Like her personality, Balu's sound cannot be easily pigeonholed - it is bold, authentic and genuine. As multi-layered as she is multi-faceted, she doesn't think about pigeonholing herself at all and knows how to fuse a wide variety of stylistic influences in a fascinating way. Driving drums meet cool guitar riffs or striking beats and sometimes exude a vibe of indie pop, which is particularly evident in powerful up-tempo numbers. And while other songs have a rock attitude, Balu also has feel-good songs that stay in the ear.
